I’m assuming that you know it’s a Wallace Simpson quote? Not suggesting that makes it appropriate, but I guess it’s his way of getting around the awkwardness of commenting on your weight loss in the first place?

Oh, I knew it was a quote from somewhere because I’d heard it before (didn’t know who it was, though; thanks). It was just completely the wrong attitude to express to someone who’s had an eating disorder.
