Last week I was diagnosed with gastritis – kind of like acid reflux only temporary, caused by stress and (in my case) too much ibuprofen. So I’m on a low-acid diet for the time being, which doesn’t mean *no* wine, but does mean that I went shopping today for relatively low-acid wines. Got two old-vine Grenaches, one from southern France and the other (Garnacha, really) from northern Spain; I’m looking forward to comparing them! Also got an Alsatian Pinot Blanc, a Lirac (mostly Grenache Blanc), and a weird Spanish white blend (Viura, Malvasia, and Tempranillo Blanco).

I let nothing stand in the way of wine exploration, not even my fussy stomach.
