Have any of these antis considered that maybe it’s a good thing to show relationships where one half wields a considerable amount of power and influence over the other as coercive and unhealthy? Especially if the first half is a literal slaveowner who has bought the other half’s brother? Like if you want to write a soft version you go and do that, but why is this interpretation so under fire?

soft!frostmaster shippers who are antis are so weird to me. Like, one of your favs is a despotic slave master who happily executes their family and threatened Loki’s, if not Loki himself. That ship is canonically a dumpster fire, and it’s far more concerning that some people can’t recognize that and think it’s weird that people get dubcon or noncon vibes.

“Ship and let ship” doesn’t have to mean you like or approve of all ships; it just means you don’t harass people for shipping things you don’t like and you don’t go around making unsupported claims about the real-life sexual morality of the shippers. Some ships are nOTPs just because I don’t think they make sense (*cough*ThorxBruce*cough*), but there are also some I side-eye real hard because of the in-canon dynamics of the characters. Killgrave x Jessica Jones is one of those (only shipped by fans of the Tenth Doctor because they can’t see David Tennant any other way, I’m pretty sure). Tony Stark x Peter Parker is another (though I can’t say I have the moral high ground on this one, given some of the Thorki AUs I read). And soft!Frostmaster also falls into this category for me. I’m not going to go crashing their party because I’m not that kind of asshole, but yeah, I’m giving it some serious side-eye.

What is Grandthorki?

Officially Grandthorki is a subtype of Frostmaster in which the Grandmaster coerces a platonically related Thor and Loki to engage in sexual activities with each other and/or with him. There’s tonns of possibilities where one could take that, so for a more nuanced description, see this post.

What if I don’t interpret the ship that way?

That’s fine! There’s nothing wrong with interpreting a ship a different way! ^_^ However, since Grandthorki was coined for a specific purpose, the above definition will be the only type of content that will be tagged as #Grandthorki on this blog.

If you would like to write Thor and/or Loki as having pre-established sexual feelings for the other, then it will still be reblogged! It will just be tagged as #GrandthorkiB instead.

Variations of soft!Grandthorki/soft!Frostmaster (where it’s written as not even remotely dubcon/noncon) are not allowed for this event. I’m sorry. Your interpretation is valid; it’s just not worth my time or energy to cater content that I have no personal interest in.

That said, this is a hate-free environment. If you are hateful towards any ship, kink, or person, you will be blocked.

How do I participate?

It’s simple! You can post your content any time on October 20th or October 21st (UTC-6). Please be sure to use the tag #grandthorkiday within the first five (5) tags. If you don’t tag correctly, I won’t be able to find it and reblog.

Thor hated himself with the intensity of a million burning suns.

It wasn’t a new hatred. Even before Sakaar, what-if’s and if-only’s would fill barren nights to the brim. There were a thousand words he could’ve said the night Loki fell from the Bi-Frost (the night he let go), and when Loki came back, ghostly and hateful and raging, there were a thousand paths Thor could’ve taken. The words that were actually spoken, the paths that were actually taken—they’d been the wrong ones.

In the aftermath of hindsight, Thor had learned to stitch self-loathing into the fabric of his being. Only its intensity was changing now. Sakaar was strengthening it into something suffocating and raw, and it was killing him. It was bleeding the life out of him.

“Loki, please,” he said, resting his cheek upon smooth, unrelenting metal. “Please just open the door.”

There was no click of the lock or twist of the doorknob. No sound from within the bathroom at all.
