Thought this was fake or a misunderstanding but

Major Authoritarian Actions!

Clearly Trump got some tips from Kim Jong-Un at their chummy little meeting. No wonder he thought it was such a huge success.

many people have been saying since the beginning he is going to come after citizens. First he came for undocumented, then for green card holders, and now for actual citizens. This doesn’t end with just that.

This – as well as the investigation of naturalized citizens to find inconsistencies in their paperwork, resulting in the revocation of citizenship – is fascism. The Nazis revoked the citizenship of Jews whose families had been in Germany for generations, saying that Jews could never be real Germans. The same logic says that immigrants can’t be real Americans, regardless of how long they’ve been here and the hoops they’ve jumped through to earn citizenship, and Hispanic people can’t be real Americans even if they were born here. Falsified birth certificates are just a pretext.

Babies in cages were no ‘mistake’ by Trump but test-marketing for barbarism

It is easy to dismiss Donald Trump
as an ignoramus, not least because he is. But he has an acute
understanding of one thing: test marketing. He created himself in the
gossip pages of the New York tabloids, where celebrity is manufactured
by planting outrageous stories that you can later confirm or deny
depending on how they go down. And he recreated himself in reality TV
where the storylines can be adjusted according to the ratings. Put
something out there, pull it back, adjust, go again.

Fascism doesn’t arise suddenly in an existing democracy. It is not easy
to get people to give up their ideas of freedom and civility. You have
to do trial runs that, if they are done well, serve two purposes. They
get people used to something they may initially recoil from; and they
allow you to refine and calibrate. This is what is happening now and we
would be fools not to see it…

Holocaust denier Art Jones walks precincts distributing anti-Semitic literature

antisemitism-us:

If you live in the 3rd Congressional District, Art Jones — a Holocaust denier, activist anti-Semite and Republican candidate for Congress — may be knocking on your door.

And he’s passing out literature that includes some positions that may
look friendly to supporters of President Donald Trump — writing that he
stands in support of building a border wall, getting rid of “sanctuary
cities,” repealing Obamacare and putting “America first.”

But Jones is also distributing information in which he writes there
is “extreme hatred of Jews for Christians.” In a separate flier, he
attacks his Democratic opponent, Rep. Dan Lipinski, D-Ill., for
co-sponsoring a bill in 2014 that sought to defend Israel against
academic boycotts.

“Just who is Lipinski serving — the people who elected him or his
Jewish/Israeli masters?” reads a flier left on some Southwest Side doors
earlier this month. Another flier states a “real Holocaust of Nuclear
War” will happen unless the country puts “an end to this craven
subservience to anything Israel demands of our government.”

This is worse. Looking at these you can tell they have no significant monetary value. They were confiscated as a fear tactic. Nothing more.

This picture breaks my heart everytime it appears in my dash. It’s a fear tactic, alright but—

The first one in the left corner: It’s a first communion rosary, and it’s not cheap.

The black one in the first line: That’s a widow rosary and it’s old.

The white one in the second line:  is a commemoration rosary. It has a miniature picture in the round part. I haven’t seen that since the 70′s.

In the third line, multicolor one: It’s an Anima mundi, I have only seen those in the hands of Rosary ministery’s old ladies. The oldest ones are from the 80′s after Juan Pablo II came to Mexico for the first time. It’s one of the old ones, I know because the crucifixes are different.

The third one on the fourth line: Red and gold. The style is old, the metal is dark, that’s a 50′s rosary, probably a quinceañera one (or it’s maybe older, from the 40′s when the brides carried red roses with their offerings).

The fifth one on the fourth line: It’s a quinceañera rosary with Ignatius’s tear. The style is old and in my part of Mexico is orphan girls who used it. At least it was when I was young.

The third one of the fifth line: the blue one with the anchor. That one I have only seen in Veracruz and it doesn’t look new.

The fifth one on the fifth line: That’s a 90′s wedding rosary. Black and white patterns were popular on that date.

The fourth one on the last line: That’s a first communion rosary from the 30′s. It’s delicate and most probably silver.

The rest wrench my heart too, the humble everyday rosaries with wooden beads and knots. Those are cheap and bear the wear and tear of their user handling. But those  I described are much more.

Those are mother’s rosaries.

Those are not just rosaries. Those are mementos, that’s the proof of their families stories. They are taking from them the only portable things they can carry to feel the connection to their families.

It’s not a fear tactic. Call it like by its name.

It’s dehumanization.

It’s fucking prison camps holding 1,400 children. that’s fascism

This is incredibly difficult to look at. I fear this will continue and he will commit even worse crimes against humanity. I believe the UN is sitting on June 27 to discuss the humanitarian aspects of Trumps decisions here.

Glad to see major network coverage of this

So sorry that this isnt snakes but… wow.

The quotes with his face are in Spanish as well as English. This is a reeducation center.

Remove children from parental influence, hold them long enough for them to captor-bond for survival, surround them with a new ideology 24/7. The youngest ones become blank slates, and the older ones wear down and adapt just to belong.

The next step would be to with hold all contact from their parents indefinitely. You could then punish them for speaking or learning their native tongue, and teach them domestic and hard labor skills and “employ” them outside of the camps to [insert synonym for “it builds character” here]. Since they aren’t actually citizens, minimum wage and labor laws don’t apply to them.

Ask the Native Americans and Austriallian Aboriginals how well this system works.

I think the relevantly jingoistic stand-in for “to build character” here is “to teach them the American work ethic.”
