âIâm also happy to call Tom, âa heroâ. I look at this young man and think, âYes, if he doesnât fit the bill, I donât know who doesâ.
In this country (England), we generally donât do heroes, unlike in America, where every cheeseburger commercial has one in it. But Iâve seen Tom up close for long days in stressful situations and he carries himself with such grace and generosity. Heâs a marvel to watch.â
â Hugh Laurie, talking about Tom Hiddleston at the Empire Awards in London (March 2017)
Tom: Little bit of a behind the scenes detail for you, but I am
now having to attach myself to a wire so that I can climb, just in case I
slipped off the ladder.
Josie: You climbed beautifully so you couldnât see it, it was
actually really great.
What happens to you now?
Tom: So, in the play Marius is shut inside the city gates of
Corioles and his men believe he will almost certainly be slaughtered. What happens to me at this time is I am crawling along the lighting
rig, down the lighting and fire ladder, stripping off my armor as fast as I can
and standing in a small paddling pool while being doused in blood to come back in
two minutes time up stage right.
I read somewhere that the actors for Loki and Frigga decided they should share a ticâŚto pick at their hands when they were upset or nervous. I decided to look for it, and lo and behold, itâs true! I guess thatâs something of a âtellâ if Loki is in disguise, heh heh. Fauxdin indeed.Â
