me: seeing a post where thor fans insult loki and loki fans and say they don’t want thor to ever interact with loki on screen again

and loki fans replying by insulting thor and thor fans and saying they don’t want thor to ever interact with loki on screen again

i think neither of y’all actually understand your “fave” character much do you

I understand the Loki fans’ POV far more, but I still can’t get behind the “Thor has only been bad for him and he should extricate himself from his relationship with Thor entirely” attitude.

I’m just repeating what @illwynd has said before, but: watch how they interact in Thor: The Dark World. Thor trusts Loki, and Loki lives up to that trust. Thor swears up and down that he doesn’t trust Loki, but he’s full of it. Watch his actions. He trusts Loki. That movie shows Thor and Loki working together, fighting together, trusting each other, neither sacrificing his individuality to the other’s demands. Their plan takes advantage of Loki’s distinctive talents: the ability to cast illusions and lie convincingly; the unexpected double-cross. Even his heroic self-sacrifice is very much in his own style: while (apparently fatally) impaled, he has the ingenuity and presence of mind to use his proximity to turn on Kurse’s own black hole grenade.

The mutual trust, the casual bickering, the cooperative strategic use of their complementary abilities: that, we can imagine, is what their relationship was like before Thor’s selection as heir caused his head to swell to the size we see in Thor 1.

The Prince of Egypt + Thor and Loki [ 1 / 2 ]

#on a scale of moses to loki how well do you handle being adopted

do you make grandiose speeches and perform a series of supernatural feats that result in a massive death toll, or do you… wait

Oh c’mon that’s not fair I mean Loki was recruited to carry out the bidding of a hitherto unknown supernatural bei —- wait.

Moses and Loki, there’s one comparison I never saw coming.

Once you see it, you will never listen to All I Ever Wanted the same way again.

His story was like Moses in Thor 1(and Avengers?‌). But now another comparison can be made too. In Ragnarok, Loki comes with a spaceship to rescue Asgardians who are standing on a bridge on a see. And when their home is destroyed, they survive in the ship. Sounds familiar? Yeah, that’s the story of Noah.

Here’s @darthxerik’s amazing fanvid of Loki clips set to “All I Ever Wanted” from The Prince of Egypt, and here are Thor and Loki doing “The Plagues.” And here are a longish discourse and a really weird fic I wrote inspired by this comparison.

Thor: What are you thinking … That I could never understand. Therefore, I am always afraid of what you can do.

Loki: That’s what you think of me … But don’t worry, brother. If one day I do something, it will be just for you.

I’m was still very impressed by the recent trip to the Black Sea. And I am ready to spend eternity there, on the southern shores of the Crimean peninsula … always. But I’m ready to admit that for such a long period of absence I missed my favorite pastime. And always thought, what to start this time? Something must have been necessarily bright and sunny. And yet I came to the answer.

The work was not difficult. But I didn’t have enough time, so I painted 2-3 hours a week.

There are many details on the art that you can pay attention to.

The terrain can be any, but still everyone thinks of Asgard. And I think: why not? Rather, it is something like an alley or park.

The horses of Thor and Loki differ in coloring as in the film. Dark horse Loki means obscurity, secrecy, some kind of darkness. In the horses of Thor and Loki, you can see the symbols that define one or another of their essence on the armor: you can see a snake and small horns on the armor of the horse Loki, and the symbol of Mjolnir on the armor of the horse of Thor.

I do not know what to say about that white bird in the uppermost corner …. Probably it just carries something like light and magic at this work? I think so

The work is created with a mouse in Krita
