After everything that happened in Ragnarok, imagine Thor hearing about Steve and Tony’s fight and being like “Really?! Thats why you all stopped working together?! Just get over it! I did! I’m still friends with Loki and he’s betrayed me three times since breakfast! This petty mortal shit is nothing!”

just-banner:

I just saw Ragnork for the 3rd time and this was all I could think of during the scene when Loki and Thor are in New York looking for Odin:

Presumably, Tony and the other Avengers are keeping an eye out for sightings of Thor and Hulk. Scanning the internet, news, social media etc for any sign that their friends are alive/back on earth. So imagine how confused they are when 1 selfie of Thor in casual clothes on a random New York street pops up on twitter with no explanation.

Taika Waititi on a scene they cut: “"They all land on the bridge – Thor, Loki and then Hulk.“They stand for a second. Then Hulk just smashes Loki, punches him out of the frame – just like in Avengers, when Hulk did it to Thor. It was a crowd favorite, but we just had to get rid of it for time.

A random thought about Ragnarok:

I had a similar thought. It always seemed very deliberate that that is the only time in Avengers we see him use his daggers like in the first movie. Like he wanted to wound Thor more with the memory of how he used to be than cause actual physical harm. (Because hellllllllloooooooo, Asgardian constitution?) But when you add the snake story on top of that… Oh.

Ha, so it was Loki’s answer to Thor trying The Neck Thing™ on him.

“Thanks for bringing up such a painful memory. While you’re at it, why don’t you give me a nice paper cut and pour lemon juice on it?”

As for The Neck Thing™ I see what you mean about it having an old culture feel. It’s very intimate, and nowadays men don’t show affection like that (usually). With that being said, they did The Neck Thing in The Avengers, and I really feel like it worked there. I didn’t ship Thorki when I first saw that movie, and I was really touched by how the gesture affected Loki – you could see it in his eyes how much it meant to him, probably because it reminded him of their bond and made him feel safe.

I would say it made him feel the opposite of safe, because the re-emergence of affectionate feelings toward Thor was a threat to his ability to carry out his mission! But yes, you could really see how the gesture called up strong associations and memories of their relationship over the centuries.
