Tessa Thompson behind the scenes of ‘Thor: Ragnarok’
I didn’t notice this while watching the film but: they gave her heels? WTF? Who thinks that any warrior of any race or gender in their right mind would want to do that?
You weren’t meant to notice those in the film. Those are not “her armor has heels”
Those are stage lifts designed to make the actor look taller/the correct height for the character. You’ll see them a lot in behind the scenes clips – and not just on women either (in fact, RDJ wears them all the time to make him the right height relative to Chris Evans, ‘cause RDJ is short. Tom Cruise also wears lifts in a lot of his movies, because the guy is TINY). Tessa Thompson is only 5′4. She needs that extra height to look convincing as Valkyrie.
Remember when they had to build a ramp so Natalie Portman wouldn’t look weird kissing Chris Hemsworth XD;; I laughed, and yet, I’m only about 7cm taller than her so it was kinda an ugly laugh
Check out those extreme platform boots on Haldir (Craig Parker) from Lord of the Rings 🙂
Look if we’re gonna point out anyone’s high heels lets not forget the best one
Torn between being happy Valkyrie survived, and pissed that they’re doing this. Seriously? “I know we didn’t show it to you or mention it whatsoever, but lots of Asgardians survived, including the woc we didn’t bother to put in our movie.” That’s lazy and a cop out.
You know, I kind of figured, since it would be implausible for a ship of that size not to have escape pods – they’re like the lifeboats on the Titanic. But it is annoying that they didn’t even have Thor say “At least the Valkyrie led some of my people to safety” or something like that.
The bad news: this reduces the likelihood that Loki will be brought back in A4. If some of the Asgardians survived – including Brunnhilde, whose presence in future movies has been teased – it becomes less imperative to turn back the clock as far as the attack on the Ark… and makes that “No resurrections this time” line seem more like a declaration from the creators themselves rather than merely from Thanos.
1. the commodore ship is the colours of the Australian aboriginal’s traditional flag.
2. The left head of the three headed champion fighter has Taika Waititi’s face.
3. In the scene where Thor is being nursed in Hulk’s room, 1 woman is Hemsowrth’s wife and another is Waititi’s wife.
4. The shot where they pan from Loki and Valkyrie to the reflection in the floor was nicknamed “The greatest shot in the history of cinema” by the crew.
5. Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston are not in fact brothers. Crazy.
6. The line “He’s a friend from work!” was actually thought of by a young boy who visited the set as part of ‘make a wish’. He told Chris to say it as he thought it was funny, and now it’s the most famous line from the film!
7. Jeff Goldblum would sometimes just ad-lib for 4-5 minutes at a time, and it would be incredible.
Y’all know they only said it was “the greatest shot in the history of cinema” because it’s got two great views of two great asses.
Here’s another alternate concept design version I did of #TheValkyrie for #ThorRagnarok Early idea Taika had of her being hooded w/mask & w/mace gauntlets. & of course b4 perfect casting of @TessaThompson_x
I don’t think Tessa Thompson would have been super proud of engaging talks with Feige re: An all female super MCU teamup movie if she knew *her* character was immediately doomed. That said Loki + Asgard are all dead fer sure.
Oh, I must have missed that interview, @led-lite. That’s kind of reassuring. I’m pretty sure Loki is going to die at some point in the movie, but I’m still holding onto the fragile hope that he won’t die right at the beginning.
