Peter Q: I ship you with that MJ girl.

Peter P: Thanks, Uncle.

Steve: Hold up, you’re not shipping him anywhere.

Peter P: Dad, what he meant was–

Tony: He’s right, you have to go through us first. *holds Steve’s hand*

Shuri: *barely heard anything and only heard MJ’s name* *whispers to Peter* Damn, you have really strict parents.

IM CRYING OKAY JUST IMAGINE tony trying to explain the basics of roleplaying in bed to steve.

“so it’s us playing out scenes that might not normally happen?” steve asks.

tony nods, happy that steve is getting it. “exactly.”

after a brief silence, steve nods too. “okay. i think i have an idea,” he says.

“ooooh,” tony says, audibly excited, “you wanna surprise me with it tonight?”

so tony also talks him through how they can call it off if either of them want to stop at any time, and they set up to do it that night.

tony’s in the lab when jarvis alerts him that steve is coming. tony grins to himself, excited, but manages to keep working until he hears the door open and steve’s quiet footsteps. then out of nowhere he’s hoisted into a pair of strong arms.

“oh, my,” tony says, feigning demureness. “how forward of you, cap.”

but steve doesn’t talk all the way back up to tony’s bedroom.

“so, what’s going on, hm?” tony purrs when steve finally drapes him on the bed.

steve peels back the covers. joins him. and…pulls the covers back over them. and steve draws him close and pats his waist and says, “night, tony.”

“wait what,” tony says, smushed against steve’s chest, because neither of them are even naked.

“we’re roleplaying going to sleep on time,” steve says. “night, tony.”

tony’s too awed by his boyfriend’s tactics to kick him out of bed.

Based on the Prompt:: Stony is afraid to be public with their relationship for fear of tarnishing Steve’s “Captain America” image, or hurting Stark industry stock. Peter (Tom Holland) convinces them to go public anyway– and several requests for a bisexual Peter Parker.

****************************

Tony and Steve were an overly affectionate couple.

Tony drank his morning coffee sitting on Steve’s lap. Steve never walked past Tony without kissing his cheek. Tony texted Steve constantly, even if it was nothing more than talking about a dog he had seen. They held hands through movies. Played footsie through dinner. Used one pillow at night because Tony slept with his head on Steve’s chest and that’s all he needed. Steve stood behind Tony as he worked and rubbed his shoulders when they hurt. Tony washed Steve’s hair in the shower.

Overly affectionate, and every one in the Compound took it in stride. They smiled and moved around the couple when they kissed in the hallway. Saved the biggest chair on movie night so they could cuddle. Knew better than to come near the lab when the windows were blacked out.

Overly affectionate, and it was fine.

But the minute they left the compound, everything changed.

They arrived in separate cars to press events. Steve posed with Natasha for pictures, Tony with Pepper. Steve would hug Sam when they met in public, but Tony got a handshake. Tony kissed everyone’s cheek when he said hello, but only smiled up at Steve. They never stood next to each other if they could help it. Avoided being seen walking together. If anyone were to ask, they would say that maybe Steve and Tony just didn’t really like each other. Maybe the friction between them at the battle of New York had carried over longer and they really didn’t want to be around each other.

It wasn’t the truth of course. But it was the truth they let the public see.

And the entire team respected that they wanted to stay private, but Peter— Peter had some questions.
