Haha, thanks! (For those who are wondering, the first sentence is referring to this post about the parallels between Thor/Loki and Steve/Tony.)
In terms of fic recs, the most useful thing I can do is point you to my bookmarks page on AO3 – it’s basically a very long rec list. It’s mostly Thorki fic, with the occasional Superhusbands (in case you’re still into that) and some gen Thor & Loki fic. I also write Thorki fic, as well as some gen fic about the brotherly relationship between Thor and Loki; I’m Philosopher_King on AO3. My works page is a bit of a mess, so here’s a direct link to my Thorki series in the correct reading order (which is not the order in which I wrote them).
I semi-seriously wonder if the reason we didn’t see Thor and Loki hug in Ragnarok is that Waititi and/or Feige was worried that the sexual tension would have been too obtrusive. Officially, they’re just brothers, and there’s nothing else going on between them, but it seems like no one gave Hiddleston & Hemsworth that memo…
My sense about Infinity War is that Loki will not go back to being a villain, because Ragnarok made such a point of his character development toward heroism. I’m not at all confident that Markus & McFeely (the writers) or the Russo brothers (the directors) really care about Thor or Loki as characters; they all started in the Captain America movies, and I think their hearts are with the human Avengers. I hope, though, that the success of Ragnarok, and their awareness of Loki’s fan base, will motivate them not to neglect his character arc. With Thanos as the Big Bad and the ambiguous connection between Loki and Thanos set up in The Avengers, there’s a real opportunity for interesting character moments (are we gonna give Loki PTSD, or does Tony have a monopoly on it?) and some juicy moral dilemmas. DON’T FUCK IT UP, MARVEL.
