Even when pharmacists do let people access contraception, whether emergency contraception or condoms or prescription birth control pills, the process isn’t always free of judgment. In a series of recent online discussions, people across the country have begun to share stories of the stigma they’ve experienced. As many have pointed out, this can be especially damaging to teens.
DO YOU SEE THIS? PHARMACY EMPLOYEES IN THE U.S. ARE NOT LEGALLY ALLOWED TO DO THIS. THAT GOES FOR THE PEOPLE AT THE FRONT AS WELL AS PEOPLE IN WHITE COATS BEHIND THE CAGE.
If an employee in a pharmacy makes a snide comment – Front store workers, pharmacists, or Pharmacy Techs give you shit? Gently (Or not so gently) remind them that the waiver they signed upon being hired legally binds them from commenting on your purchase, as it is a violation of privacy laws. Doing so is grounds for INSTANT termination and hefty fines.
Pharmacy workers (white coats) are legally obligated to ASK if you need an explanation of how medication works and any side effects, any medication conflicts etc. If you decline, THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED AT ALL TO MAKE SNIDE REMARKS OR FARTHER COMMENT ON YOUR PURCHASE. FRONT STORE EMPLOYEES CAN NOT AT ALL COMMENT IN ANY WAY, IN ANY STORE WITH A PHARMACY IN IT.
Know your rights. If this shit happens? Call them the fuck out and ask to speak to a manager. Get worked up. Cause a scene. Threaten a Lawsuit. If you see this happening to someone else, and they seem to be struggling, speak up for them.
As a Pharmacy worker, you bet your ass I’ll protect you and your privacy. IT’S MY JOB.

I DONT CARE WHAT YOUR BLOG IS
THIS IS SOMETHING EVERYONE SHOULD SEE
I’m so glad this never happened to me when I had to go get it. Words would’ve been had.
Millennial doctors are killing predatory health-care capitalism!
This June at the American Medical Association’s annual meeting, a
coalition of young doctors forced the AMA to debate its decades of
opposition to single-payer healthcare. During the heated debate on the
resolution, older doctors lectured their young challengers about the
possibility that universal health care would erode doctors’ income.
The AMA has led the opposition to national healthcare since the 1930s,
but by the end of the meeting the AMA had chartered a study group to
consider its position. Polls of younger doctors show overwhelming
support for the idea. They’re entering a field dominated by huge
corporate practices and don’t see themselves as entrepreneurs striking
out on their own and worried about government interference in “their
business.”

I hate when people who are new to a fandom/ship ask for fic recs and are IMMEDIATELY shut down by someone snarkily saying “Just go to AO3 and search then filter by kudos duhhhhhh 🙄”
Because that’s a fucking stupid way to find good fic.
Because sometimes, the most kudo’d fics??? Aren’t the best fics. Or even the most in character or canon-compliant. They’re just the fics that have been around the longest, that were written while the fandom was still young and the show new and these are the “fandom favorites” but they may not be all that great.
I want the fic that has half those kudos but spot on characterization that I wouldn’t find by searching for the “most kudos”. I want the fic that hasn’t gotten that much love and you’re screaming by the time you get done because holy shit!!! What an amazing fic!!! I want to hear what someone else liked and why. I want to take the path less traveled when it comes to fic because that is new and exciting and a breath of fresh air and a new take that, unfortunately, no one reads because when people look for fic, they go by kudos.
So yeah. Rant over.
Amen – and this is why I always try to highlight the ‘under-appreciated’ fics or new authors. And why I always get annoyed when I see the same ten fics recc’d. Fandom is so vast and varied and there are so many stories that deserve a spotlight and so many writers who need encouragement.
So when someone asks you for recs, take the time if you can and share your faves. Introduce the world to an undiscovered gem of a story or author. (And, if you’re me, gain new friends out of your fangirlish gushing :D)
