I think my most infuriating experience with this was when I was rushing through a metro station trying to get to a class and I heard a guy behind me say, “Excuse me, miss?” I turned around because that’s the kind of thing that is usually followed by “Your bag is open” or “You dropped your wallet” or something equally important. Instead he said, “Where is your smile at?” I didn’t respond. Fortunately I didn’t miss the train.
