‘God of Mischief, Loki. He doesn’t look very happy. He’s not looking like he’s having a good time in the trailer… Is he not ‘ending his run’, more or less, with handing over the Tesseract?’

Thank you, Tom, for reminding us of Loki’s emotional complexity. And pointing out that the fact that he was lied to all his life and found out a world-shattering truth in an abrupt, traumatic fashion does still make a difference in the way he behaves.

A lot of this always comes down to the directors. And what Branagh did – just from my point of view – was he brought the Shakespearean element to the sibling rivalry, where everybody could relate to feeling less than, or shut out, or pushed aside, or not equally loved… and I think that you’ve [to Tom] just done a brilliant job…’ ~ Robert Downey Jr

That’s a nice change from CH and TW going “pfffft Shakespeare’s stoopid, why you take this so serious Tom, what we need is more anus jokes”. I love that RDJ specifically told Tom what a great job he did in the more Shakespearean version of MCU.

twh-news:

Tom Hiddleston, Tom Holland, Robert Downey Jr, Mark Ruffalo, Russo Brothers backstage of Infinity War press conference. From RDJ’s Facebook live.

  • Anthony Russo: “I saw Tom in the hotel gym this morning, working out. You can see the marvelous effects of it here.” I.e., his ass, apparently.
  • I love how Hiddleston is dressed to the nines in a well-pressed suit with a tie and sharp dress shoes while everyone else looks like they just rolled in off the street. Anthony Russo and RDJ are wearing track jackets, Mark Ruffalo says his dresser forgot to set aside an outfit, Tom Holland admits he’s wearing his only clean clothes…
  • I’m amused that RDJ commented on how high the chairs are for all those short people, except Hiddleston. TH1 is the only one whose feet touch the ground, and he looks weirdly cramped when he puts his feet on the bar across the chair legs.
  • Not exactly video-related, but: the fact that Hiddleston is doing all this press for Infinity War strongly suggests that Loki will not die in the first 5 minutes. I find this immensely comforting.
