Cautious Approach of Brown Bear Yearling Cub by David & Shiela Glatz

Via Flickr:

Female Brown Bear cub (Ursus arctos) approaches cautiously on the coast of the Cook Inlet, Alaska. Her mother was right behind her, so she didn’t need to be so careful. We did and we backed off accordingly to give the bears plenty of room. Lake Clark National Park, AK.

awkward how reassuring i find this

well ya duh society shames speech patterns associated with young women

“Speech fillers” are just a human’s way of saying “wait a sec I’m thinking”. It means we think more before we speak, always trying to find the right way to say it. Every language has them. And people shouldn’t be annoyed by it, ever.

Fun fact: even Deaf people and ASL users have a “filler” and depends on the person. Sometimes it’s almost like a wave, other times it’s wiggling fingers.

this is the most romantic thing i’ve seen all day

No shit. That tom cat was like:

“This thorn invested wall means nothing.”

“I will gladly walk on it a thousand times over, if that means I could be with you, my lady.”

and the lady cat was all:

“My brave darling.”

OOOPS MY HAND SLIPPED!!

Suddenly my muse insisted me to draw the personification version of the last pic, and who am I to reject inspiration when it comes so willingly to me? At least this will help with the artblock issue I currently have to deal with.

Russian imperial era inspired because hot damn.

Note: I tried google reverse image (and other reverse image search engines) those photos and came up with nothing. I wish I knew the original photographer because I want to love hug him/her so hard for capturing such inspiring moments.

OMG that’s the cutest thing ever and the best courtly love ah so brilliant.

Few romantic heroes could do better.

I don’t post cats often but that illustration.

The Prince of Egypt + Thor and Loki [ 1 / 2 ]

#on a scale of moses to loki how well do you handle being adopted

do you make grandiose speeches and perform a series of supernatural feats that result in a massive death toll, or do you… wait

Oh c’mon that’s not fair I mean Loki was recruited to carry out the bidding of a hitherto unknown supernatural bei —- wait.

Moses and Loki, there’s one comparison I never saw coming.

Once you see it, you will never listen to All I Ever Wanted the same way again.

His story was like Moses in Thor 1(and Avengers?‌). But now another comparison can be made too. In Ragnarok, Loki comes with a spaceship to rescue Asgardians who are standing on a bridge on a see. And when their home is destroyed, they survive in the ship. Sounds familiar? Yeah, that’s the story of Noah.

Here’s @darthxerik’s amazing fanvid of Loki clips set to “All I Ever Wanted” from The Prince of Egypt, and here are Thor and Loki doing “The Plagues.” And here are a longish discourse and a really weird fic I wrote inspired by this comparison.

In New Zealand, there is a man legally known as ‘The Wizard’ who is an educator, comedian, magician and politician. Some of his political ideas include:

  • Abolishing old-fashioned gender roles
  • Travelling to find the “center of the universe”
  • Replacing God and the Church with Wizardry and the World Wide Web

“Wizard, The”

This is The Wizard, reblog in 35 seconds to reveal the secrets of the center of the universe and abolish old fashioned gender roles.

The Wizard of New Zealand is not just legally named “The Wizard” so he can appear on his driver’s licence that way.  He is actually, literally, officially, the Wizard of New Zealand and was appointed to that role by Prime Minister Mike Moore in 1990.
