Gamora straight up being introduced as the last of her people in gotg and then the infinity war turning around and saying that ACTUALLY her planet is thriving because of Thanos’ genocide and that Gamora should be grateful that he murdered her family and took her away is uhhhhhh …. vile
Wesley dancing at a house party is a source of unbelievable cringe.
Sean Gunn had guest roles as two different minor characters in two episodes in season 1, not very far apart in time.
Omg the end credits with Angel and Wesley doing some weird disco shit
The demon who possessed a psychopath kid and was so horrified by the void inside that he tried to commit suicide is one of the most disturbing things I’ve seen on a TV show.
For the past 27 days, a small Protestant church in The Hague has been conducting round-the-clock religious services to protect an Armenian refugee family from deportation.
By law, police officers in The Netherlands are not allowed to enter places of worship during religious services. So, reverends from around the country have taken turns holding services at Bethel Church to prevent officials from arresting the Tamrazyan family, who have been in The Netherlands for nine years.
“By giving hospitality to this family, we could give them time and place to [demonstrate] to the secretary of state the … urgency of their situation,” Theo Hettema, chairman of the General Council of Protestant Ministers says.
@iamanartichoke tagged me about 2 weeks ago and at the time I hadn’t gotten any fic written recently, but I finally wrote about a page of the next chapter of First Things while I was on a long flight last week.
The game is to post the last sentence you wrote and to tag as many people as there are words in the sentence!
“I
fear that would only make my distraction worse,” Thor replied.
10 points to your House if you remember from the previous chapter(s) what he’s talking about.
What name/nickname would you like people to call you here on Tumblr? Phil
Gender: Cis woman, more or less
Height: 5′1″
Are you on the older or younger end of the spectrum on Tumblr? Middle, I think? I’m 30.
Can you think in both metric and imperial? Sort of. I’m an American who’s moved to Canada for a year, so I’m getting better at temperature in Celsius and speed in km/hour, but my brain definitely still functions on the silly Imperial system.
What time is it where you are now? 5:44 PM
Do you use AM/PM or 24 hour clock? AM/PM, but I don’t have much trouble with 24 hour.
Are you usually early or late? Late, to my shame.
Favourite band: I dunno, it varies. I like the Decemberists, Fleet Foxes, Florence + the Machine… fake folk music, I guess.
What is your favourite unusual genre of music to listen to? Movie soundtracks (which I guess is not that unusual, given that both of my taggers also named it) and recordings from choir concerts I’ve sung in (is that a genre? I like it because it doesn’t distract me).
Last movie I saw: On a long flight I watched Pacific Rim and part of Ocean’s 8.
Last TV show I watched: I’ve been rewatching “Angel,” as I’m sure you all know.
Did you last read a book or fan fic? Most recently I was reading fic updates on my phone on the subway, but I’ve also been reading Frankenstein on my Kindle on planes, because I hadn’t read it before and it’s the 200th anniversary.
What sort of fan fic do you like to read? Thorki and some Loki-centric gen. Some angst is good, but I’ve been steering clear of excessive whump recently.
What do I post on this blog? It used to be mostly Thorki, Loki, and MCU stuff, but I’ve been feeling alienated from the MCU and its fandoms (especially the Thorki fandom, for reasons of which all of my followers are aware), so these days it’s mostly shitposts and my liveblogs of rewatching “Buffy” and “Angel.” I also post some political stuff, cute animals, and (mostly humorous) posts about Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Star Trek, and Star Wars.
If you could live in another country which one would it be? Scotland
Do you consider yourself adventurous? Not really, no. I’m an adventurous eater and drinker, and I consider myself intellectually adventurous, but I don’t like taking risks with my safety or traveling in really unfamiliar places.
What hobby would you get into if time and money weren’t an issue? Playing violin is a good one. Or maybe I’d just get even more into wine and whisky connoisseurship.
What would be your first question after waking up from being cryogenically frozen for 100 years? “What the fuck is going on?”
What superpower would you like to have? I recently read an argument that freezing time would be the best superpower. Time travel is kind of appealing, but also seems to involve a lot of pitfalls.
