PSA to everyone on Tumblr: Comments on posts are public, and other blogs may respond to your comments. If you want to have private conversations with your friends, use the messaging feature on Tumblr. The internet isn’t like the real world where we all have an understanding that you don’t insert yourself into conversations. On the internet, everyone’s having those “private” conversations with loudspeakers and printed transcripts passed out to every passerby. They’re never really private, never really exclusive, unless you use the features that are specifically designed to keep your conversations one-on-one. I’ll never write anything in posts, reblogs, tags, or comments that I’m uncomfortable with someone responding to and/or debating me on, because the internet doesn’t follow the same rules as the real world. It just doesn’t. And if someone’s response really bothers you, block them.
I really cannot get over this cats fucking face it’s so round and conveying an emotion that I simply am not equipped to understand
I WAS AT THIS MEETING, I MET THIS CAT. I forget his name but he was soooo sweet, I think it was Councilman Clark who brought him in! This was at the very first meeting in Denver to decide whether to ban declawing (the ban succeeded!)
Update: I emailed this post to councilman Clark, subject line “your kitty is famous”
Update 2: Councilman Clark responded, he thinks this is awesome and his cat’s name is Kit Kat
Thank you Kit Kat for protecting the cats of Denver!
I think the emotion on Kit Kat’s face is democratic engagement.
I made my first attempt at taking the cat for a walk. I managed to get the harness on her (once I figured out which way it went… good job, me), but I had to carry her outside because she wouldn’t walk under her own steam when I tugged (very gently) on the leash. Once we were outside, she immediately made for a planter with some bushes she could hide in, and she kind of got her leash tangled and got some twigs stuck in her fur. I managed to get her out of there and I tried just sitting with her on the side of a planter and letting her get used to the sounds and smells, but she was definitely not happy; she was making the same yowling noise she does when I put her in her carrier. She was willing to walk in the grass for a bit, but then she tried to hide in the bushes again, so I picked her up and carried her back inside.
I’ll give it another try and see if I can get her used to the great outdoors. Maybe I should go out through the basement of my apartment, away from the construction. But for now my takeaway is: she talks a good game about wanting to go outside, and she loves the smell of the outdoors through a safely closed screen, but when it comes down to it she’s a scaredy indoor cat.
She doesn’t seem to hate me, which is good. She didn’t go hide under the bed when we came back inside. Maybe this will not turn out to be a futile endeavor.
Now she’s meowing plaintively at the door. You didn’t even like it out there, you moron!
werewolf: i’m a werewolf person: ok so when you’re in human form you’re a human, and when you’re in wolf form you’re a wolf though. werewolf: no. i’m a werewolf. human form = werewolf. wolf form = werewolf. always a werewolf. no matter the circumstance or appearance, I AM ALWAYS A WEREWOLF
I mean, like, sorry to have made you go through the trouble of clicking the unfollow/report button, I guess. It bears mentioning that I didn’t threaten anyone, whatsoever. I stuck up for a mutual and told a bully to go outside. If that’s considered threatening … I mean, okay? I don’t even know what to do with that.
Look, threatening to spread pamphlets around tumblr about someone’s negative opinions on Ragnarok is bullying. Being ridiculously nasty to someone who reblogs your public post and adds an opinion on it that you don’t like is bullying.
Make all the positive Ragnarok/Taika Waititi posts you want. I don’t care. But if all you want is an echo chamber of people who will agree with you, well, you’re not going to find that on Tumblr. You’re just not. That’s not my problem, that’s just the way the public internet works.
Anyway, if you’re following me and you’re cool with bullying, just go ahead and click Unfollow, I’m sure I won’t miss you. I said my piece. I don’t care to engage with bullies who are incapable of critical thought. I won’t be addressing this again, nor am I going to turn off anon because I have nice anons who talk to me, but if you feel like sending more hate, go off, I guess, I’m just gonna delete it.
This definitely strikes me as a “No puppet, no puppet, you’re the puppet” moment. The only person in that thread who was doing any threatening was the person this anon is defending. Just because *you* feel threatened by criticism, of either your views or behavior, doesn’t mean that any actual threat was issued.
By the way, making frivolous reports of “abuse” is definitely bullying. And apparently our friend is recruiting followers to make such frivolous reports. This is straight out of the anti playbook: trying to harass people they disagree with off the internet by making their online lives unbearable… and apparently anyone who calls them on their bullying behavior. Ironic that it’s the “pro” side of a dispute that’s using such anti tactics.
