Maybe. This “speak normal” thing is annoying. What “Normal” would that be? American English, I suppose? or at a stretch that pseudo-British accent Hemsworth dabs over his native Australian dialect?? Is that acceptable, or does he have to drag his rrrs and get a twang too?
I think it’s also got to do with earning notes by jumping on the hippest trend, and that be Ragnarök.
in any case, in this the year of our Thunderlord 2018 we shall keep writing our Thor how we wish. (and will usually try to ignore this kind of post, but sometimes alas we shall happen across them on One of Those Days and then we will be compelled to Reply.)
…and you get even more notes if you can swoon over Ragnarok and drag Joss Whedon, directly or indirectly, in the same post!
As for me, I will continue writing Thor’s dialogue the way Whedon does: classic yet comprehensible, faintly old-fashioned but not pinned down to any particular time period. Which is what you might expect from a 1000-year-old god whose speech is magically translated into whatever language his listeners understand.
