I just saw a quotation from Kant’s Metaphysics of Morals, which I haven’t read because ethics isn’t really my area, where he says “there can be no obligation to have feelings.” That’s remarkably forward-thinking, considering the 18th-century, heavily Christian context. Good job, Kant.
