imaginetrilobites:

*sees yet another post which is a butthurt about my opinions* yeah bro congrats on your bad reading comprehension and not understanding the differences between watsonian and doylist analysis

god i really don’t wanna start blacklisting people

Sorry to be sharing a personal post but I’d never heard the terms Watsonian and Doylist analysis before. Here’s the TV Tropes page explaining the concept. I’ve used various terms to capture this distinction – story-internal vs. story-external reasons/explanations, diegetic vs. non- or extra-diegetic – but I like these expressions a lot, and they’re very fandom-friendly.

P.S. blacklisting URLs is actually a much more effective and lower-impact way of avoiding people than blocking them: you just don’t see anything they write. You can whitelist your own URL if you want to see when people are talking about you directly (make sure you include it both with and without the @; those are different words as far as XKit is concerned).
