These Westboro-type people were protesting loudly outside the philosophy building all through our Nietzsche seminar. In case you can’t read the guy’s sign, it says “Feminists are Whores”; on the other side it said “Women Belong in the Kitchen.” His hat says “I ❤ Haters.” The guy in the Fear God sweatshirt on the right had a sign that said “Drunkenness Leads to Homosexuality” on one side and “All Masturbaters are Homos” on the other.

So when class was over, just for shits and giggles, I taped together two pieces of printer paper and wrote in Sharpie on one side “Worship Dionysus, the god of tits and wine” and on the other “Nietzsche died for your idiocy.” Then I stood for a few minutes in the group of students confronting the protesters (facing their camera to make sure they recorded it) and held up the sign, periodically flipping it around.
