replied to your post “Can you explain who Slott is and why he is bad for iron man comics?…”I’ve only read some of his Spider-man run and he suffers from the same ineffectual white man problem of needing to stamp his genius onto a beloved character so nobody forgets his ~influence~. Mainly this means shafting female characters. I hate so much that he keeps throwing around these beloved scfi genres/ terms, because I KNOW in my heart that in the hands of a more thoughtful and reflective writer, it’d be such a good story.
I call this ‘pissing on a fencepost syndrome’ and unfortunately it’s endemic amongst douchebro comics writers who think a basic lack of understanding of a character and their central themes makes them *more* competent, perhaps even an auteur.
Not to change the subject or anything, but I think that account also makes Taika Waititi count as a fencepost-pisser, only in films rather than comics.
