I never get the “house aesthetics” posts that compare Ravenclaw to, like, cool pristine lakes and the quality of quiet after it snows, and whatever other metaphors for bookish serenity you can come up with when, like…

yeah there’s gonna be some ‘claws like that, but I feel like this is also the house where fifth years are trying to invent spells and come staggering down to the common room with, like, T-Rex arms and are like “uh, guys, could someone give me a hand,” and where a first year asked for help on a History of Magic question and accidentally sparked a heated house-wide debate about the justifiably of the Goblin War of 1309 or something that results in people literally flipping tables and shouting across the common room until Flitwick has to come and put a silencing charm on the whole bunch of them so that he can get a word in.

Give me the wild, crazy, inventive Ravenclaw aesthetics.

I’ve never really seen much meta about it but ravenclaw is also the only house I can see most artists being in too? So yeah, messes, passionate debates and some angst and all nighters and writers’ block and pacing and torn up parchment and injuries and breakthroughs and ecstatic victories and sleeping for four days after it all is ravenclaw to me

So like… academia.
