Writing about two historical philosophers is much like writing M/M slash fic in that you have to repeat their names a lot in order to avoid uses of “he/him/his” with an unclear referent.
Under no circumstances, however, will I refer to them as “the bearded man” and “the mustachioed man.”
okay, but for the record, academic writing would be a lot more fun with mustaches.
Clearly that’s why Nietzsche grew such a majestic one.
Also for the record, I do not ship my dudes in a sexual or romantic way. That would just be weird. It is a strictly platonic brotp.
