I love reading Thorki and Hiddlesworth. But have no interest in stories placed in “alternative universes”. And there is a awful lot of these… What is your recommendations for either Thorki fics that stick to the narrative of the movie universe or Hiddlesworth fics that stick to the real lives of the two gentlemen involved ;-D

raven-brings-light:

So for hiddlesworth I’m afraid I can’t really help you out. I do enjoy hiddlesworth, but I’ll *only* read it if it’s an AU.

For thorki and strict canon compliance, you can’t go wrong with the Whatever is done for love series by @philosopherking1887.

I know I rec this one an awful lot, but I really love it – Ignis Fatuus by @claricechiarasorcha fits nicely into the pre-canon movie universe.

What Happens in Midgard by @ikoliholic also fits into the pre-canon movie universe.

Glazed by @darklittlestories is a bit of dirty fun that could also fit into the pre-canon verse as well.

I do enjoy writing AUs, but I also have multiple stories set in the movie-verse.

And thanks again! I’m amazed that someone is looking for canon-compliant fic. I guess it’s my lucky day! I don’t read Hiddlesworth either, but I can contribute some more Thorki recs:

Loki Really Wants To Bang His Brother AU, a series by @karuvapatta, in spite of the name is not really an AU, except insofar as the Thor/Loki premise itself is not canon-compliant. It all takes place within the canon universe, though I suppose the ending isn’t Ragnarok-compliant… well, that’s going to be the case with a lot of existing Thorki fic.

@illwynd has a few that are (more or less) canon-compliant, including Playing the Part (I might be able to put that in the fluffy rec list, believe it or not) and I Remember a Shadow (warning: darkness ahead).

I’ve also got a bunch on my bookmark list that are canon-divergent (i.e., they suppose that something went differently than it did in canon) but still take place in the world of canon rather than an AU. Anon can decide whether they count as sufficiently canon-compliant. They include:

The Unnamed Days by @claricechiarasorcha (one of the things I like best about this one is that it gives Jane a significant role to play and does her voice well)

Take the Long Way Home by @cavaleirahh

Find a Home by Aria and filiabelialis
