Whenever anybody gets on how they think cats are horrible because they don’t shower you with easy-to-read physical affection I’m left wondering how much respect or understanding they can possibly have for fellow human beings who don’t all fit their exacting social standards.

I’m gonna assume this entire genre of commentary references this article, and I gotta say:

The writer of that article isn’t going to die alone because they hate cats. They’re going to die alone because they can’t stand the idea of “sharing” someone’s love and affection with anyone or anything else, and doesn’t seem invested in trying to understand how other people get along in life.

i’m honestly kind of at a loss that the author of that article thinks cats are what’s going to cause them to die alone

like i can understand veganism (if one of you eats meat and the other doesn’t that would be hella uncomfortable for you both) or the politics thing (politics are personal so like, don’t make yourself get along with someone who secretly hates what you are) but the rest of it is just like “you can’t have these hobbies” which…?

That person is a fucking piece of work. No wonder cats don’t like her.
